Graco ComfortSport Convertible Car Seat JordanAn excellent first car seat for young parents looking for a bargain (and it doesn’t get better than eighty bucks for items like these), the Graco ComfortSport convertible car seat is used by infants five to 30 pounds as a rear-facing seat, then it turns right around for a front-facer for children 20 to 40 pounds.

It possesses the Graco standard safety and comfort features—the five point adjustable harness, the EPS energy-absorbing comfort foam, a removable head pillow and the famous cup-holder.  With an easily read level indicator and LATCH equipped fastening, its installation problems are also minimized.

Graco ComfortSport – Negative Reviews

Negative Graco ComfortSport car seat reviews focused on the difficulties in fastening buckles and adjusting the LATCH system.  Others reported that their infants struggled to maintain their head position comfortable, as the infant thus strapped in tends to lean forward.  The buckle, difficult to secure, was equally difficult to dislodge, and one customer reported a trying half hour trying to disengage his infant.

In addition, some customers found the seat difficult to install in their cars; one reported a four hour attempt, after which they returned the seat.  One reviewer warned that the center buckle has been changed from that of a previous model to a smaller one that does not operate smoothly; it’s  a “pincher,” and a letdown from Graco’s previous buckles.  Out of 71 reviews, some 10% were negative; most of the dissatisfaction came from the mechanics of the seat, either in installation or removal of the seat and/or the infant.

Graco ComfortSport – Positive Reviews

Nearly 90% of the reviews were positive, and those were REALLY positive, saying that they loved, adored and cherished the Graco ComfortSport, especially when they used two in tandem in their backseat for their new twins.

They were much in favor of the safety harnesses, the comfort “memory foam” (several parents considered it the most comfortable of their baby’s seats—the baby’s review is not in yet) and the absolute security of the seat once it is installed (and many admitted difficulty here).

Unlike the negative reviewers, many positive reviewers reported little or no trouble with the buckles, straps or latches, so apparently one man’s headache is another man’s dream installation.  Speaking of headaches, many positive reviewers complimented the side foam deposits as good and comfortable head rests for their infants.  Customer satisfaction was high overall; the Graco ComfortSport car seat reviews contained mostly praise and contentment for the product.

Graco ComfortSport – Conclusion

It appears that the Graco ComfortSport car seat model is a winner for most reviewers and consumers.  Many of the sore spots for the bad reviewers were contradicted by the good reviewers, either as being no big deal or an actual positive asset (case in point: the straps, a breeze for some and a nightmare for others).

In general, nothing succeeds like the success of Graco (many reviewers swear by that brand name almost exclusively), and we can certainly recommend the Graco ComfortSport convertible car seat as not only a good buy but, at $80.54, an excellent bargain as well.
