When the child’s weight exceeds 40 pounds, and s/he has grown to 52” or more, the back on the car seat is removed, and it becomes a belt positioning booster seat for a child up to 80 pounds.

The Cosco Scenera Convertible Car Seat is adaptable, safe and secure for any newborn or very young child: it can be adjusted a rear-facing position for an infant of 5-35 pounds, and switched to front-facing for a toddler of 22-40 pounds.
